Recently in Maths I have been learning how to make nets for 3D shapes,we started with making a cube and will soon move onto making a cuboid,we have just started learning coordinates, how to use a map and how to break up grid squares.

Today we learnt how to draw 3D structures by looking at 2D diagrams:

In Manaiakalani we have been learning about how to write a good blog comment,these are some of the
key factors:

How to write a good comment:

-Be positive

-If you like something in their blog post tell them

-End the comment with a relevant question

-If you have a connection with the writer make sure to include it in the comment.

-Its good to have factual information.

Careers Expo

Careers Expo

For my careers work I have been researching Pathology.To find a career to research the class took a quiz about genres of career options,once we got the results we had to narrow them down to five careers and then choose one to research I chose Pathology because it seemed very interesting. First I collected relevant information,next I put all the information and facts onto a slideshow.I then used those facts to make a poster.After nine weeks of preparation the class held a careers expo for the year sixes.My friend Milly and I were at the same table because she researched the same thing,so at the table we had a slideshow on the computer ,a poster and a pamphlet that Milly had made.I think that the expo went really well and I enjoyed talking to the year sixes.

This is my slideshow about a Maori legend called Kupe And The Giant Wheke. I really enjoyed the challenge of only one word or phrase per slide with an image that gives enough information to retell the story.

My Work Reflection

Rotations:

Today I enjoyed the rotations, I really like the group I was in and the activities we did,it put me out of my comfort zone and and challenged me to do new things. Im looking forward to friday and doing it again.Im excited to learn some new languages with Nogo and find out what activities ill be doing with Julie and Sharon.

Milos:

My goal for MILOs is to choose something on my list and stick to it and stop changing activities so I am planing to continue learning spanish on Duolingo and dancing with Milly and Joanna.

Learning:

My learning goal is to try and work with new people and try something different.I would like to work on extended word knowledge and word types for literacy, and angles and long division for maths.I would also like to go over some things that I learnt last year so that im fully up to date by the end of this year.

What I Am Learning.

This week I have been working on a choose your own path story on google forms.It has been really interesting and I have enjoyed being challenged to think of and write multiple outcomes to one story, my goal is to finish my story this week so that I don't leave any work unfinished for next term.
